Blurday

By Duane Anderson

PROMPT—During Covid-19 ...

Welcome to a special event

the birth of the new word of the year.

Welcome to Blurday,

to a new lifestyle,

where one day is no different from the next,

a weekend, no different from a weekday,

just another day to be left blank on the calendar,

where yesterday could have been

today, or even tomorrow.

See what is written on my calendar.

Each day is blank,

another day to celebrate nothing.

Duane Anderson currently lives in La Vista, NE. He has had poems published in Fine Lines, Cholla Needles, and several other publications. He is the author of Yes, I Must Admit We Are Neighbors (Cyberwit.net - 2021) and On the Corner of Walk and Don’t Walk (Pacific Poetry Press - 2021).
